Thrills and spills on the various mountain bike trails of Brechfa, it is a gorgeous walking area too with rivers and hills, forests and wildlife. The mountain bike trails are highly recommended by enthusiasts, and they start only 15 minutes down the road.
There are two great pubs in the two villages at the start of the trails, Brechfa and Abergorlech.
There is also the fascinating Forest Garden area which can be walked up into.

Gelli Aur Country Park and Arboretum lovely day out. The cafe and playground are open, as is the nature trail to the quarry.
The magnificent arboretum is also open again and you can walk round for £4.50 an adult which covers the cost of the tree surgery work.
Down the road Llandeilo is full of independent shops, cafes, a Gin Haus, a chocolatier, beautiful buildings, a castle, stunning woods and parkland, great for local people and visitors.
Walk around the Wildlife Trust reserve of Dinefwr Castle Woods, or through the National Trust Grounds of Dinefwr

A lovely historic market town, the nature reserve of Poor Man’s Wood is right on your doorstep
There’s lots of cafes and places to sit and enjoy the bustling town. Friday is market day in the old market square, a regular cattle market also happens at the town.
Talley Lakes is managed by the local Wildlife Trust this little gem of a nature reserve are two lakes situated by the pretty village of Talley.
The ancient abbey is stunning and there are lovely walks from the abbey.
The local pub in Cwmdu is open at various times but check before you go! It also hosts a vibrant shop run by local volunteers.
